Hello! I am sitting here in a cloud of gratitude and enthusiasm as I finally introduce Humankind Nutrition, PLLC to the world. As you peruse through this website, you will learn a lot about me (Tracey) as well as the type of service we provide (nutrition counseling.) However, this pretty picture would not be complete without me explaining the origin of Humankind Nutrition.
When I decided to pursue this practice, I knew the name had to reflect what I wholeheartedly believe nutrition counseling should be. So many ideas came to mind - intuitive, empathetic, inclusive, genuine - but all of them were either taken (being transparent here!) or not quite right.
I heard the word, “humankind,” during a speaking engagement I attended. While I’d love to say it was a significant part of the speech, I’d be lying. As the speaker said, “You know the thing about humankind is…” I immediately felt that rush you get when you…

While, the words, “human,” and, “kind,” can exist separately, they are all the more powerful when used together. What does it mean to be human without kindness? With regard to nutrition, it often looks like speaking negatively about the way our bodies looks/functions in comparison to society’s unrealistic standards.
